The Acton Citizens’ Band is both a concert band as well as a marching band. The musical selections range from marches to spirituals to musicals to theme songs. The Band specializes in providing entertainment for community affairs. The Band currently plays for many public events in Acton and the surrounding area, such as parades, concerts, dinners, and some church services. The members freely volunteer their time to these events. Additionally, many members, both adults and children, have learned to play their instruments in classes operated by the Band.
You may see the Band at the Acton Fall Fair, Remembrance Day service, Christmas parades and concerts, the Firefighters’ Canada Day Fireworks, and the Leathertown Festival. Even so, their reach extends to the Rockwood Pioneer Day parade and Festival as well as Glen Williams for their Canada Day celebration and Memorial service.
New members are always welcome to join. Instruments can be supplied at no cost. The Band practices every Wednesday evening from 7:30 to 9:30 pm at the Acton Band Hall on Wallace Street, Acton, Ontario, Canada.
